What a Cure for T1D Would Mean
to our JDRF Youth Ambassadors:
“It would mean that people, including my sister, could live a life free of T1D. It would mean never having to worry about how a particular food or activity might affect my sister’s blood sugar. And it would mean not having to worry each night about my sister.”
“No more shots and not waking up in the middle of the night. Not having tubes sticking out of my body.”
“For me, a cure would mean a life with less stress, less pokes, more sleep, and most of all no highs and lows.”
“Everything. Freedom from shots, set changes, and constant finger pricking. No longer having to worry about what I eat and when I eat it. No longer feeling different from my friends.”
“EVERYTHING! I’m tired of being my own pancreas!”
“It would mean I would again have the freedom to live my life.”
